Mr Winston Kim is a highly respected consultant orthopaedic surgeon who has built his reputation as a leading specialist in hip and knee surgery, with a particular focus on robot-assisted joint replacement.

He is recognised as one of the most experienced surgeons in the UK in this field, having carried out more than 1,200 robot-arm assisted hip, knee and partial knee replacements – the highest number of private procedures of this kind nationwide. Robot-assisted surgery is widely regarded as a breakthrough in joint replacement, offering precision and improved outcomes, and Mr Kim’s practice is dedicated exclusively to this advanced technique. He consults at Spire Manchester Hospital and The Circle Alexandra Hospital, where he is supported by an expert clinical and administrative team.

Mr Kim studied medicine at the University of Aberdeen, qualifying in 1996. He went on to complete orthopaedic training in the North West of England in 2005, followed by prestigious fellowships in North America, including the British Orthopaedic Foundation Travelling Fellowship in 2006. After more than two decades working within the NHS, he transitioned into full-time private practice in 2017.

In addition to his pioneering work in robotic surgery, Mr Kim has also performed over 2,000 traditional hip and knee replacement operations. Between 2022 and 2024, he consistently led the UK in the number of private robot-assisted hip and knee replacements performed.
