Mr Richard Baker is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon with a focus on joint replacement surgery. He has been part of the team at Nuffield Health Bristol Hospital since it opened in 2013 and also works at the Avon Orthopaedic Centre, Southmead Hospital, where he has practised since 2012.

A graduate of the University of Manchester (1999), Mr Baker has dedicated his career to orthopaedics, combining both surgical practice and academic research. His specialist training in joint replacement was completed in Bristol and Vancouver, giving him broad international experience. His clinical expertise covers primary hip and knee replacements, partial knee replacement, hip resurfacing, and complex revision procedures for failed or problematic implants.

Beyond his surgical practice, Mr Baker contributes to teaching medical students and junior doctors. He has also written extensively in the field, with more than 20 peer-reviewed publications covering topics such as hip and knee replacement, femoral neck fractures, and hip resurfacing techniques.
